Vehicle Registration

Vehicles must be registered in the state of Massachusetts Registration costs $30.00 and is good for two years. Provide proof of ownership (bring title or bill of sale, or past registration), proof of insurance with a state insurance company. Application for a Massachusetts title must also be made at this time for the cost of $50.00. Inspection of your vehicle must be cone within seven days f registering your car. Any certified gas station or repair garage can do an emissions and safety inspection. A state sales tax may be applied to all vehicles purchased less than six months before moving to Mass.

Applications available at the City Clerk’s office, City Hall, or call the Registry of Motor Vehicles at 1-800-858-3926.

You must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and show proof of residency.
