New Georgia residents must apply for a Georgia driver’s license within 30 days of establishing residence. All other licenses must be surrendered prior to issuance of a Georgia license and proper identification will be required. You may be required to take a vision test, and must provide proof of residency.

Vehicle Registration

Georgia license plates must be obtained within 30 days of establishing residence. To register your car, provide a valid emissions sticker, proof of insurance, vehicle ID number, and proof of ownership. Contact the DMV office for more information.
